About Grace
The ministry of Grace
Community Church began in December 1993 after nearly a decade
of dreaming about a ministry that could
reach out to young families, teens, and the spiritually wounded
in the community. Several families, after praying and seeking
counsel, stepped out in faith with little if any resources
to pioneer a ‘different’ kind of church in this
community. Grace would be:
- A church that would view itself as "different from" but
not "better than" the other ministries in the
area.
- A church whose people would express their love for God in
vibrant worship, committed stewardship, and authentic relationships.
- A church where people would be trained and released into
active ministry based upon their spiritual S.H.A.P.E.
- A church that would intentionally reach into the community
to meet needs and where lost and hurting people could feel
accepted
and nurtured.
- A church that would have a regional vision and strategy for
transforming their world into true worshipers of God.

Our mission is to be a God-honoring Church that demonstrates
to our world a Great Commandment love that leads to a Great
Commission lifestyle. (GC3)
Simply stated we are to… Transform our world into true
worshipers of God.

Grace Church began in 1993 with a vision to creatively
present Christ to a Christless generation. We claim the
village of Nashville, the surrounding communities, Barry-Eaton
counties, and the South-Central Michigan region as our
harvest field.
Our vision compels us to serve this region as a Ministry
Training Resource Center. |

The Great Commission shows us that we need to have balance of
Winning the lost, Building the believers, and Equipping the
workers for the harvest field; in our spiritual emphasis and
programming style. Recognizing that Jesus Christ is our Lord
and that we all must stand accountable before Him as faithful
stewards, we will strive for a spirit of excellence in all
that we do.
We further believe that our church structure will need to be
flexible so as to meet the ever-changing needs of our culture
and community. We will seek to demonstrate the reality and relevance
of Christianity through contemporary, caring, and creative expressions
of our faith.
Therefore, we will strategize to:
Win the lost to the Lord by compassionately meeting the needs
of our neighbors, modeling a consistent Christ-like lifestyle,
conducting regular corporate outreach events, and proclaiming
God's love to all in our sphere of influence. The desired end
result will be seeing the people of Grace Church regularly and
aggressively sharing Christ with others and seeing multitudes
of our family, friends, and neighbors trusting the Lord as their
Savior.
Build the believers by rooting and establishing them in the
truths and principles of God's Word, creating opportunities in
which loving, caring relationships can form and deepen, maintaining
a spirit of dynamic and creative worship and praise, and focusing
on a prayerful dependence upon God. We will meet individually
and corporately, through large and small gatherings, to joyfully
celebrate His character and mighty acts and our victorious relationship
with Him. The desired end result will be a collective body of
individuals who are maturing in their knowledge and heart experience
of God, spiritually filled and fruit producing, and actively
using their spiritual gifts in ministry towards others.
Equip the workers for the harvest field by identifying and
encouraging the usage of spiritual gifts in the lives of our
people, creating strategic relevant ministries that meet the
needs of others, conducting regular training events for ministry
skill development, and prioritizing our financial, physical,
and human resources to this end. The desired end result will
be teams of people enabled and empowered to do the work, and
then lead the work, of the ministry in all aspects.

- God is to be exalted and glorified in all that we do; corporately
and individually.
- Righteous living is a scriptural expectation
of all believers and is to be encouraged.
- Authority of God’s
Word is held over and above the teachings and traditions
of man.
- Care and compassion are to be shown to all people
as we try to meet their needs.
- Evangelizing, edifying and
equipping are to be the priorities for each believer and
the church so that everyone might stand
complete before Christ.

In short, our church motto, Loving
God – Helping People,
communicates the mission and vision of our church. We are to
love God with
all of our heart, and we are to help people in any way that we
are able. Most especially, we seek to help people to begin and/or
deepen their relationship with Christ. |
